Description
This position is responsible for the assembly and final welding and fabrication of stainless track systems and final assembly fitting or retro/fitting of machined parts into our feeding systems to meet the needs of our customers in applications such as automotive internal combustion engines, electric battery technology, EV drive train, etc.
This is a full-time, hourly position eligible for overtime pay. Candidates will work on the assembly floor doing final welding of internal tracks, fitting of parts using hand tools or using a computer AutoCAD software program for revising and sending parts to the waterjet for cutting. This position will NOT weld all day. But, when you are welding, you will be doing TIG welding on stainless. No two days will be the same. Primary Responsibilities:
· Determine if parts will fit. If not, determine if the part can be revised using boring, Bridgeport, hand tools, new welds, etc. for the part to fit into the desired location.
· Use computer AutoCAD software to draw parts to be sent to the waterjet.
· Position and weld stainless parts using TIG welding according to prints.
· Regulates machine for proper weld current, wire feed, and gas flow
· Assures that the fit, function and cosmetics are at, or exceeds quality expectations
· Removes BB's and any other weld imperfections from surface of products
· Implements and completes all tasks assigned by team leaders and management
· Maintains all company safety regulations to provide a clean, accident free, and healthy work environment
· Operates press brake, box brake and roll as necessary

Requirements
Skills Required:
· Must have High School diploma or equivalent. Previous welding fabrication experience required or recent training in the field.
· Knowledge of press brake, box brake and roll.
· Experience preferred in one or more of the processes GTAW and GMAW
· Should be able to weld in all positions, not just flat welds
· Must be able to read basic blueprints and have good attention to detail
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret the English language
· Must possess basic math skills and read and use a measuring tape with accuracy
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with the variety of situations which occur in the daily fabrication process
Protective Clothing and Physical Demands:
· Air Way Automation is a machine shop and production facility. Individuals are exposed to noise and a variety of temperature conditions.
· The incumbent may be required to stand most of the day, along with stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, and kneeling.
· The position requires a minimal lifting ability of 50 pounds.
· The incumbent will utilize safety glasses, ear protection, gloves, safety shoes while performing the functions of this position
