YWCA Columbus is Hiring a People & Culture Human Resource Specialist Near Columbus, OH

The People and Culture Human Resource Specialist will support the daily functions of the Human Resource Department to include implementation and administration of the ADP Learning Management On-Line Training system; responsible for improving Employee Engagement, to include, facilitating the agency's Internal Equity Council and serving as lead point person for the Peer Mediation Program and Restorative Response Team. Collaborating with the Leadership & Social Justice (LSJ) department in the development, execution and advancement of the agency’s internal Justice, Equity & Belonging strategies and processes. Assist with hiring and recruitment, creating and implementing company policies and practices and supporting the day-to-day activities of the Human Resource Department.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the coordination and management of training to include staff development programs
  •  Implementation and administration of ADP’s Learning Management System (LMS), partnering with leadership to identify training needs of their employees and develop or identify existing programs that match these needs.
  • Coordinate with department managers and supervisors on the training needs of their employees and develop or identify existing programs that match these needs. 
  • Partnering with leadership to assess talent at all levels, focusing on future planning, opportunities for training, and development programs for employees. 
  • Design and conduct training for employees, supervisors and managers, providing ongoing recommendations to managers and staff regarding various topics to assist the growth and development of all staff and leadership.
  • Maintain tracking of all training and professional development completed by all YWCA employees via the ADP Learning Management System.
  • Evaluate training procedures, analyze effectiveness, and update as needed.
Responsible for ongoing Employee Engagement.
  • Promote agency-wide development of an equitable, accessible, and inclusive workplace to include assisting with culturally inclusive staff engagement events, facilitating the agency's Internal Equity Council and ongoing employee engagement to promote a culture of belonging within YWCA Columbus, to include designing and implementing a continuous dialogue strategy to identify employee ideas and improvements and advising on recommended improvements across the agency. 
  • Measure/assess culture, employee engagement and satisfaction, wellness and DEI initiatives using employee surveys, exit surveys, and listening circles, and other creative and restorative ways of collecting feedback; develop plans for action, and report on the actions we take and their outcomes. 
  • In collaboration with LSJ, assist in the development, execution and advancement of the agency’s Justice, Equity & Belonging strategies to create a culture of inclusion, innovation, and employee engagement. Responsible for the facilitation of racial equity training for new employees and regularly engaging across departments in mission-centered continued learning. 
  • Point of contact for YWCA Columbus’ Peer Mediation Program and Restorative Response Team, responsible for facilitating repair process and peer mediations, as well as training potential employee peer mediators. 
  • Provide ongoing assistance to the Restorative Response Team and parties involved in or affected by instances of harm, including the development of repair agreements and appropriate follow-up to promote accountability. Develop a communication plan to raise awareness about the new internal repair process. 
  • Arrange all training and formal conferences for repair, including scheduling, identifying and reserving the space, securing supplies/materials, and recording documentation and next steps, etc.
  • Work with YWCA Columbus’ leadership team to ensure ideas, planning, and policies are implemented within the organization. Compiling the results and recommendations to management based on the data and creating communication and action plans.
 
Assist with recruiting, selecting, and onboarding of agency staff. Develop recruitment strategies to 
 achieve required staffing levels. 
  • Participate in the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, hiring for various roles, and supporting the organization’s diversity initiatives and strategy to attract, hire, and maintain a diverse workforce.
  • Organize and manage new employee orientation and onboarding of new employees; advertise job openings on company’s website, social media, job boards and internally; screen incoming resumes and application forms; provide shortlists of qualified candidates to hiring managers; may assist with interviews (via phone, zoom and in-person). 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term recruiting strategies. Provide training to improve recruiting and hiring efficiencies and reduce turnover.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or related field, combined with three (3) years of Human Resources experience or Associate’s degree combined with four (4) years of Human Resources experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience implementing conflict mediation and positive employee development. Knowledge of employee engagement and experience working with diversity, equity, and inclusion. Solid presentation skills, conflict resolution, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Familiarity with social justice concepts, structural racism across institutions, and strategies for increasing diversity, equity and belonging. Experience instituting positive cultural change within organizations. 
  • Experience creating, coordinating and administering staff development training; Be a strategic thinker with the ability to develop, communicate and implement plans that support the overall goals of the organization. 
  • Previous experience with ADP WorkforceNow desired and experience using Microsoft™ Office suite. 
  • Familiarity with trauma-sensitive, restorative approaches to harm reduction and repair is preferred. 
  • Comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.
