Summary

Senior Account Managers perform the essential duties of the position, which includes responding to the day-to-day servicing needs of clients in accordance with standard procedures. Senor Account Managers will also participate in client meetings. Senior Accounts Managers will mentor and train agency personnel

  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to clients, their employees, carriers or other information as appropriate

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate data in Agency Management System and electronic files
  • Review and distribute daily mail tasks
  • Evaluate non-standard certificate orders and address potential account problems
  • Prepare Statements of Values, Summaries of Insurance, and manage renewal processes
  • Market and negotiate terms with carriers for renewal accounts 
  • Handle policy changes, maintain Expiration Log, and oversee accuracy of policy reviews
  • Manage a complex book of business
  • Act as a resource to team members, and provide training when necessary
  • Accompany account executives on sales and service presentations
  • Present risks to underwriters and actively negotiate terms and coverage
  • Research and analyze data to enhance client insurance programs
  • Assist Account Executive with New Business
  • Perform any other assigned duties

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Has at least 5 years of account management experience or equivalent.
  • Hold current and valid Property and Casualty insurance license
  • Hold at least one professional designation, such as CIC or CPCU or have comparable job experience
  • Possess a supportive and responsive manner with internal and external customers
  • Has ability to multi-task in complex working environment with accuracy and proficiency
  • Possess excellent technical skills on insurance coverage and markets 
  • Possess excellent organizational skills
  • Has knowledge and experience necessary for independent decision-making ability
  • Is a self-starter and problem solver
  • Has the ability to train and mentor others
  • Possess above average computer skills, become proficient in various needed programs, such as Sagitta and WorkSmart
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information related to clients, customers, employees and carriers as appropriate
