What We’re Looking For

Acumera seeks a Lead Technical Writer, a critical role key to implementing our strategy for an app catalog on Acumera-managed appliances. This position demands a talent for making complex information accessible, significantly enhancing efficiency for our team and clients. The candidate possesses extensive technical writing experience with a focus on containerization technologies. This role requires creating end-user instructional and technical documentation for tech-savvy teams, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of enabling and integrating custom apps for our platform. This job offers a hybrid work model, combining remote work with on-site collaboration. You'll work twice weekly at the Acumera office in Austin, Texas, specifically on Wednesdays. This fosters a dynamic environment while providing remote work for the rest of the week.

Responsibilities:

• Comprehensive System Understanding: Achieve a deep understanding of containerization technologies that apply to Acumera platform devices.

• Documentation Development: Plan, develop, organize, write, and edit documentation, including operational procedures, manuals, and technical guidelines. This role encompasses creating explicit, accurate content for end-users and developers, covering end-user guides and technical documentation.

• Documentation Management: Maintain and update business process documentation, diagrams, and a library of technical terminology, ensuring information is accessible and up-to-date.

• Content Analysis and Management: Analyze documents to ensure continuity and consistency of style and content across all types of documentation, managing updates and revisions as needed.

• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, product managers, and stakeholders to accurately define project scopes and objectives and successfully launch and maintain documentation of complex technical systems

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Technical Communication, English, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent experience.

• A proven track record as a Technical Writer and a portfolio that showcases extensive documentation work, particularly in containerization technologies and user—and developer-oriented materials.

• Solid expertise in documenting complex software solutions, especially containerization technologies like VMware or Docker.

• Experience with end-user, source code, and technical documentation, demonstrating an ability to cater to technical and semi-technical audience needs.

• It is essential to have a firm grasp of Rest API concepts, the Linux operating system, Docker containerization technology, and data formats such as JSON and XML.

• Proficiency in Atlassian Suite, Confluence, and documentation formatting, such as text-encoding system tools, with strong attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively.
