Description
The Deposit Relationship Manager manages the deposit relationships within the bank's commercial real estate lending team and will have the following primary set of responsibilities: Serves as the primary contact and interface between the client and the bank's Cash Management Team for the opening of new deposit accounts for commercial real estate clients that are in the process of obtaining a new commercial real estate loan. These deposit accounts will be required by the terms of the in-process CRE loan agreements. Cross-sell the CRE clients with the bank's other competitively priced deposit account products in an attempt to obtain other deposit accounts that are not required by the loan agreements (e.g. operating accounts for real estate that River City Bank is not financing, personal money market accounts or CDs for the principals, etc.). The Deposit Relationship Manager works with the Portfolio Management and Business Development Officer teams to farm the bank's existing $3.3B commercial real estate loan portfolio for opportunities to cross-sell existing clients with the bank's deposit account products.
Essential Functions
  1. Relationship Management/Portfolio Management:
  • Maintains new and existing deposit relationships.
  • Consistently provides exceptional service levels to clients, emphasizing professionalism and responsiveness
  • Presents the bank's requirements and account opening processes in a clear and comprehensive manner.
  • Maintains high levels of organizational skills with a desire to minimize burdens on clients (while still adhering to all bank policies, procedures, and regulations) to ensure a smooth account opening process thereby generating a positive first impression of the bank, which should increase the probability of success in future sales efforts.
  • Tailors relationship building experience to the individual needs and preferences of the client and follows through with account process to ensure that all required paperwork is completed accurately, efficiently and in compliance with all Federal, State and Bank policies, procedures and regulations
  • Follows up with customers post account opening to ensure the transition to River City Bank is smooth by fielding any remaining inquires or requests.
  • Develops rapport with key client contacts and maintains relationships post account opening.
2. Business Development
  • Leveraging the relationship building activities presented above, engage in business development activities to garner additional deposit accounts from the businesses and/or principals of the CRE clients.
  • Farm the existing extensive CRE loan portfolio for opportunities to cross-sell existing clients on new deposit accounts. This would involve sitting in on CRE portfolio reviews and working in collaboration with Portfolio Managers and Business Development Officers to identify and pursue opportunities.
  • Engage in regular customer outreach in an organized, systematic manner in order to stay top of mind for our customers. This outreach may include phone calls to check in, emailing of product flyers, invitations to bank events, relationship management luncheons for material clients, etc.
  • The individual will be expected to be out of the office at least occasionally to focus on the customer outreach activities.
3. Product Knowledge
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bank's depository and cash management products and can identify appropriate products based on customer needs.
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of financial services offered in the marketplace by competitors such as money market mutual funds, other banks, etc. in order to be able to communicate with our customers the comparative advantages of RCB's products.
4. Compliance
  • Maintains a current knowledge of Bank regulations. Ensures compliance with all Federal, State and Bank policies, procedures and regulations.
5. Other duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements
1. Grows the Bank's deposit base.
2. Provides superior service to the Bank's existing clients.
3. Retention of deposits for assigned client base.
4. Deepens the Bank's relationship with assigned client base by implementing various Bank products (i.e. Electronic Products, Cash Management, etc.); increasing client loyalty.
5. Adheres to regulatory compliance requirements; identifies and corrects potential compliance issues.
6. Consistently demonstrates the behaviors that embody River City Bank's Values.
7. Good working relationships and coordination with all co-workers and managers.
Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in business and/or finance from an accredited college or equivalent work experience.
  • Three years proven and progressive business development and sales experience in the financial services industry. Comprehensive knowledge of financial services and products as well as operations and security policies, practices and procedures.
  • Excellent sales skills with the ability to meet or exceed established deposit sales goals within expected timelines. Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in personal computers and related software.
  • Valid California Driver's License and proof of insurance.
