Join Aprio's Advisory Services team and you will help clients maximize their opportunities. Aprio, LLP is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Director, Private Equity and Transaction Advisory Services to join their dynamic team. 

Aprio’s Private Equity and Transaction Advisory Services group has the prime opportunity to have a positive impact on our client – both strategics (private and public) and private equity investor groups operating in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, technology, retail restaurant and hospitality, healthcare, government contracting, construction and business services.

This is an opportunity to be a market leader for Aprio’s Private Equity and Transaction Advisory Services in markets that Aprio may or may not have current presence such as New York City, San Francisco and Chicago. This is a growth opportunity which will consider practice growth, client prospecting and marketing and execution of client transaction advisory work (financial and/or tax due diligence and structuring) while selling the comprehensive services of Aprio to private equity and their portfolio companies.

With our specialized knowledge, we dive into clients’ businesses, buy side and sell side transactions and reemerge with important information which clients consider in connection with their decision to execute mergers, acquisition and divestiture transactions while offering solutions related that can entail advisory, assurance and tax services.

Position responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth within the private equity market.
  • Identify new business opportunities and target potential clients within the private equity sector.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities.
  • Plan, execute, direct and complete multiple due diligence for private equity and strategic buyers and sellers from a variety of industries.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and engage in effective interactions with company executives.
  • Leads, teams and assists Partners on proposals and new business opportunities by drafting responses, participating in the proposal process, building client relationships, demonstrating knowledge of client business and communicating directly with the buyer and seller.
  • Manage client expectations concerning project deliverables and deadlines and lead change efforts effectively.
  • Communicate (verbally and in writing) externally with clients and internally with all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives portraying knowledge and confidence.
  • Strong current knowledge in US GAAP, GAAS, transaction advisory services or mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills.
  • Continuously fostering relationships with coworkers (through all services lines of Aprio) and clients (both strategics and private equity).
  • Participating in a work environment that values and promotes camaraderie, collaboration and giving back to the community.
  • Experience with developing and supervising staff both on engagements and in their career.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of the Aprio Fundamentals and a desire to be held to the highest of ethical and quality standards. Will admit mistakes and involve others in situations requiring significant judgment or posing significant risk to the firm or its client(s).
  • Traveling approximately up to 25% of the time while upholding Aprio’s values and reputation.
Qualifications:
  • Strong network of contacts within the private equity sector, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Big Four or similar consulting background.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Approximately 8 to 10 years of related financial and/or due diligence/advisory work experience.
  • Understanding and applying Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills.
  • Demonstrating poise working with private equity and corporate executives.
  • Working effectively and personably with a diverse group.
  • At least seven plus years of recent experience in Audit, Tax, Finance or Transaction Advisory (preferred).
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Licensed CPA a plus.

$225,000 - $315,000 a year
The salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.
