Job Description Schedule: Monday - Friday Pay: $160,000.00 - $165,000.00 / Annually Job Summary: As a key member of the Home Office Operations team, the National Director of Dining Services plans, organizes, develops and directs the overall operation of all Dining Services for MBK Senior Living. This position ensures that the company is always in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations in the area of dining services. Additionally, this position is responsible for assuring that our residents are receiving appetizing, nutritional meals in accordance with budgets, while demonstrating the Principles and Core Values that MBK embraces, by assisting with the hiring and training of Community Dining leaders. The National Director of Dining Services is responsible for insuring that all MBK training programs, menu planning, and resident food committee agendas are being done at the community level. Essential Job Duties (Include % of time for each responsibility): - Coordinate, plan, develop, organize, and communicate MBK Signature Dining Services programs (30%) • Ensure that all MBK Signature Programs are being executed to a high standard consistently in each community • Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and resident and family member survey results; and make recommendations for program improvements to achieve a high degree of customer satisfaction • Coordinate with Marketing leaders to design, organize, and promote periodic events with prospects and referral sources • Coordinate the proper development and communication of menus - Evaluate and monitor the performance of all community Dining Services Departments (30%) • Interview and evaluate Community Directors of Dining Services (DDS) applicants and make hiring recommendations to Executive Directors. • Conduct initial on-boarding and ongoing training as needed to maintain the work performance of all DDSs • Develop DDS Mentors in each geographical area to facilitate coverage of DDS absences as necessary • Perform periodic site visits to conduct required MBK internal quality assurance audits • Organize and coordinate group DDS training and development sessions to improve cooking skills and presentation techniques • Ensure that all established rules regarding safety regulations, proper food handling and correct utilization of culinary equipment and supplies are followed • Ensure a sanitary work environment in compliance with all health and safety codes, State licensing regulations and policies and procedures regarding proper storage, handling and serving of food • Develop and implement policies/processes to ensure that food is ready on time and proper temperature levels are met - Monitor expenses to ensure proper labor controls and food orders are in accordance with planned menus and budgets (20%): • Maintain accurate budget, inventory and portion controls and work within the guidelines set forth in the budget • Review MBK required schedule labor hours management tools • Inspect all food storage locations for cleanliness, upkeep and supply control • Review Community EAP (Expense Adjustment Plan) and coordinate with Regional Directors of Operations and Executive Directors to ensure plan compliance • Ensure the maintenance of accurate inventories - Perform all administrative duties (15%) accurately and timely including: • Negotiate, monitor, and coordinate vendor purchase agreements to maximize the value of the services provided to communities - Assist Directors of Dining Services with their job duties (5%) • and assume their job activities when necessary Non-Essential Job Duties: - Perform other duties or special projects as assigned/requested by the SVP of Operations - Understand and comply with all federal, state and local regulations, policies and procedures concerning the area of Dining Services - Promote and lead with a spirit of teamwork and open communication in accordance with MBK principles and core values - Display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, Team Members, and visitors - Promote a spirit of teamwork and cooperation in accordance with the MBK principles and core values - Must possess the ability and desire to minimize waste and misuse of supplies/equipment Supervisory/Management Responsibilities (Job Title(s) & # of Employees): - Indirectly oversee and Assist all Community Director or Dining Service Team Members - Must be able to travel up to 60% of the time to various communities and Home Office meetings. Minimum Job Requirements (Include: Education, Experience, Special Skills, Licenses, and Certifications): - BA/BS degree in related field or relevant work experience. - 8 years of experience in Dining Services function - 5 years in a strong Leadership/Management role Physical Demands (Include: Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling, Bending, Walking, Standing, and Sitting): - Able to perform the physical requirements of the job - Must be mobile and able to move intermittently throughout the work day and throughout the community - Ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs., push and pull carts as necessary Inspiring people, creating experiences, and supporting goals are just a few ways MBK Senior Living creates a positive work environment.
