Information & Responsibilities

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Dean of Extended Studies, the Online Learning Video Producer will work closely with the Assistant Learning Designer to produce The Art of Filmmaking asynchronous online courses for the Coursera platform. The Online Learning Video Producer may also as needed assume various production and post-production roles, and assist with other Extended Studies online course production as required. This is a part-time temporary position.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Scheduling of instructional video shoots with instructors and videographers
  • Working the video shoots and assuming production roles as needed (i.e. videographer, sound, lighting, etc.)
  • Coordinating video editing with instructors and editors; editing video as needed
  • Video captioning and accessibility requirements
  • Securing licensing for course materials as needed
  • Producing marketing materials
  • Video file management and organization
  • Tracking expenses and maintain production deadlines

Qualifications

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated ability to take initative, excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, collaborative, and communiation skills
  • Working knowledge of video camera operation, lighting, audio recording and editing, digital video and audito editing (Adobe Premiere), video encoding, and digital archiving essential
  • Ability to create motion graphics and video post-productin effects using Adobe Premiere, Adobe AfterEffects, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop

EDUCATION:

  • A degree in fine arts, medica production, education, or equivalent experience is an asset

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in a collaborative eudcational environment
  • Experience working in video production and post-production
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects with various stakeholders
  • Online instructional design experience is an asset
  • A past or present visual and/or performing arts practice is an asset
