Position Details

ALLEGAN ONLINE AND ADULT EDUCATION TEACHER

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university required.
2. Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate – Secondary Math/Science
3. Must be highly qualified as defined by the Michigan State Dept. of Education.
4. Experience working with non-traditional populations.
5. High degree of technology skills
6. Ability to plan and implement secondary high school diploma and GED curriculum and effectively provide support for online instructional platforms to all students and adults.
7. Desire to collaborate with peers and work as a team

Essential Job Duties:
1. Teaches district approved curriculum
2. Creates a safe and respectful learning environment for all learners
3. Ability and willingness to individualize instruction to meet the needs of the students
4. Takes a trauma-sensitive approach when working with students

5. Communicates professionally to students, parents, and colleagues
6. Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations
7. Other duties as assigned by building administrator
