Job Summary

As a Core and Tooling Process Owner, you will be responsible for being the technical liaison between Howmet Hampton Core Suppliers and Hampton Casting. This position will also be the technical liaison between Hampton Casting and its Tooling Vendors for all new tooling packages being constructed for Hampton Casting and its customers.

This non-traditional Process Owner role will report directly to the Product Engineer Team Leaders.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

• As Core PO this individual will have a role in leading and coordinating all yield improvement activities between the casting plant and its vendors.
• As Core PO this individual will be the technical focal point for the core vendors when issues arise where the vendors need casting plant technical support.
• As Tooling PO this individual will uphold all of Howmet Tooling Manual requirements and ensure they are being flowed down and followed at our tooling suppliers.
• As Tooling PO this individual will review and approve all Hampton tooling letters for all major tooling (core dies, chill dies, and wax pattern dies) being issued to outside vendors.
• This position will hold regular calls and meetings with its core and tooling vendors to ensure development plans are being progressed according to quality and delivery commitments.
• This position will also provide support to the Hampton Product Engineering Team with basic wax to metal analysis and support where possible and as time permits when not consumed in the primary responsibility of Core and Tooling PO.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficiency in metrology as it relates to both core and casting dimensions and related tooling.
• In depth understanding and proficiency in interpreting prints, models CMM and Structured light data.
• Minimum of 2 years as a casting product engineer including demonstrated exceptional performance in the role.
• This position is available as a remote position but a min of 50% travel is required as regular travel to core suppliers in Morristown, TN, and Cleveland, OH is expected as well as Hampton, VA is expected. Occasional travel to tool vendors in Italy or England as well.
