Job Description Summary:
The KUMC School of Nursing is seeking a dynamic individual to support the Nurse Practitioner Specialties Program Manager, to serve as the Project Coordinator for the Advancing Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) Grant, and to support activities in the SON's Office of Academic and Faculty Affairs.
Job Description:
This position will be responsible for working with the project director and interdisciplinary team, as well as affiliate sites, to perform post-award activities in a service-focused environment. The main role will be to coordinate the day-to-day activities of the grant, including recruitment of sites, communication with key stakeholders and award recipients, facilitates MOA and team meetings, and collaborates with the PI to complete mandatory reporting.
This is a full-time position, using a hybrid work model.
60% ANEW GRANT Project Coordinator
  • Recruitment
    • Coordinate with the Program Director (PD) for recruitment of rural and/or medically underserved clinical sites for program participation.
  • Communications
    • Manage communication and timelines for evaluations of academic-clinical partners and preceptors.
    • Communicate with preceptors on preceptor training.
    • Communicate with the Office of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (OSAEM) to facilitate timely grant application communication with students each semester.
    • Facilitate MOA/Letters of Support for new academic-clinical partners.
    • Arrange on-site and virtual visits with project team and academic-clinical partners including hotel reservations, on-site meeting agenda, virtual meeting invites.
    • Maintains meeting agendas/minutes, distributes to collaborators.
    • Communicates with project team regarding team planning meetings, applicant review.
    • Prepare and disseminate a quarterly ANEW program newsletter, and other communications as needed.
  • Logistics
    • Maintain list of applicants and awardees for each semester.
    • Maintain online database about grantees, based on HRSA requirements.
    • Schedule and staff all meetings associated with the ANEW project (e.g., Team meetings, Advisory Council meetings, recruitment meetings with academic-clinical partners, others as needed).
    • Coordinate purchasing for the ANEW program and participate in monthly budget meetings.
    • Attend all HRSA Technical Assistance meetings.
    • Ensure preceptors are receiving preceptor gifts, according to gifting schedule.
  • Reporting
    • Collaborate with Project Director and other team members in writing proposals for additional funding, as opportunities arise.
    • Coordinate with PD on required HRSA reports.
40% Academic Affairs Department Support
  • Communications
    • Manage communication and timelines for evaluations of academic-clinical partners and preceptors.
    • Communicate with preceptors on preceptor training.
    • Schedule and staff meetings associated with selected SON academic programs.
    • Maintains meeting agendas/minutes, distributes to participants.
  • Logistics
    • Provides support to faculty and staff in the SON Lab, as needed.
    • Assists with scheduling students for clinical rotations and ensuring students have submitted documents required for clinical placements.
    • Reserves rooms for courses and other events.
  • Reporting
    • Prepares annual summary of activities, for inclusion in the OAFA annual report.
    • Participates in annual review process, as required for all KUMC staff.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree. Related professional-level work experience may be substituted for degree on a year-for-year basis.
Work Experience:
One (1) year of related professional-level work experience.

  • Previous work experience in a School of Nursing.
  • Experience with Redcap, Qualtrics, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Teams.
  • Experience working with faculty, administrative staff and students.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Experience working independently in an academic administration environment.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
