Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, the Product Manager is responsible for the development of strategies to manage the product life cycle from product launch through sundown. This includes, but is not limited to, developing strategies to enable effective product sales; developing effective sales tools and marketing collateral; preparation and revision of controlled documents, technical bulletins, software updates, and technical staff training on Tosoh Bioscience, Inc. (TBI) products and services (providing feedback to R&D on competitor products and ensuring that the product specifications are competitive and marketable). This includes collaborating with Regulatory Affairs in the preparation and review of application manuals, technical bulletins on TBI products and services.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate pre-launch activities between Tosoh Bioscience Japan (TBJ) and TBI personnel including review of new product specifications, market research and positioning.
  • Train technical staff and sales on product changes and improvements.
  • In collaboration with Sr. Marketing Manager, manages the launch of new products. This includes update of technical documentation, preparation of launch materials and marketing collateral, sales/technical training, pricing strategy, inventory documentation.
  • Serve as primary contact for addressing field sales needs for product information to meet customer needs.
  • Participate in critical account situations to support new or existing sales. This includes coordination with sales, clinical support, field service, and technical support to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct field market research to gain competitive/new analyte information.
  • Develop sales tools/marketing collateral including target pieces to support sales initiatives in coordination with marketing communications.
  • Review of operating manuals, training manuals, application guides, etc.
  • Develop and execute technical training updates in cooperation with technical managers.
  • Support distributor training directly or indirectly in collaboration with National Distribution Manager to educate distribution representatives to support business growth.
  • Develops and executes technical training updates and implements directly or indirectly in collaboration with technical managers for Clinical Support/Field Service/Technical Support and Quality Assurance.
  • Verify that the TBI website is current and meets regulatory requirements in product claims and literature. Coordinate updates as necessary with marketing communications.
  • Travel as necessary to attend trade shows, seminars, workshops and customer sites. Some
    international travel may be required.
  • Build a roadmap and pipeline of products/ assays/ services needed to generate new business for review and discussion with TBJ.
  • Work closely with the Media and Communications Manager to develop strategies to drive lead generation and awareness through all channels.
  • Provide guidance on the right messaging and promotions to help capture new market share in specific markets.

Education

  • B.S. degree in science, medical technology, chemistry or equivalent field required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years demonstrated experience in clinical diagnostic product management, sales/application/ technical support.
  • Knowledge of Immunoassay (EIA or CLIA) or HPLC market and technology.
  • Knowledge of Immunoassay and HPLC Instrumentation, Laboratory Interface, Middleware and line automation.
  • Passion for providing superior customer service.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interface professionally at all levels.
  • Must have general computer skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in targeted sales/marketing is a plus.

Working Conditions

This position might require visits to customer sites which are medical facilities. These facilities may have certain requirements which Company representatives must meet to gain access, including the requirement for drug, background, and health screening. Employment is contingent on your compliance with the requirements established by each facility, as evidenced by the results of the required screenings.

  • Must agree to provide required immunization records and/or agree to acquire required immunizations in order to gain access to customer sites as required by customers. You may be required to register at vendor credentialing companies.
