Required Education and/or Experience:
Master's degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related field;
A minimum of one year's experience teaching or working in online education is required.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
Applicants having completed two or more semesters of teaching online courses preferred.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with faculty and the eLearning Instructional Design Team to develop and build online courses that meet best practice standards;
Develop and conduct faculty workshops and resources for best practices in teaching with technology;
Collaborate with faculty to create student-centered learning activities and assessments that align with university, program, and departmental learning objectives;
Collaborate with the director of eLearning on various analytical projects dealing with online education.;
Collaborate with other UA Little Rock departments relative to the selection, integration, and support of appropriate learning technologies;
Serve as Quality Matters Peer Reviewer for subscriber managed Quality Matters Course Reviews for the University;
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of online/hybrid course and program development processes;
Demonstrated excellence in developing innovative and successful online and hybrid courses;
Thorough knowledge of current adult and distance pedagogical theory and familiarity with university-level curriculum development and instructional methods;
Experience in developing and conducting training sessions, both face-to-face and virtual;
Thorough knowledge of current technological tools for online and hybrid education;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Experience designing courses in BlackBoard Learn.
