General Purpose: The Logistics Technician assists the Logistics Manager in executing the acquisition, distribution, and inventory control of the department’s supplies, materials, and equipment. This role primarily focuses on delivery routes, fieldwork, and supporting logistical operations during emergencies.

Example of Duties:

• Assist in procuring cleaning materials, supplies, equipment, and paper products for the District.
• Support in the distribution of procured and stored items to fire stations and other District facilities.
• Assist in maintaining and restocking inventory, performing inventory control, and record-keeping duties.
• Assist in inspecting, sizing, and distributing department uniforms (work and dress) and firefighting gear.
• Assist in stocking and retrieving supplies from storage areas for fire stations.
• Provide assistance during emergency calls and serve in assigned Logistics and Support functions as needed.
• Support in transporting lawn maintenance and other small equipment to and from facilities to facilitate repair or replacement needs.
• Aid in managing bulk fuel tanks and accounts at the District’s facilities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Logistics Manager or Director of Support Services.

Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of related work experience in a similar field.
• Prior experience in delivery routes, field work, or logistics support is preferred.

Special Requirements:

• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Ability to participate in an On-Call program.
• Willingness to obtain NIMS 100, 200, and 800 certifications within 90 days (training provided).

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Basic knowledge of inventory control systems.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to adapt to unconventional working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to travel to different sites and stations as required.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Regular standing, walking, and climbing of ladders required.
• Ability to perform duties in various environments, including office settings and warehouses with moderate physical exertion.

Work Environment:

• Work involves exposure to stressful situations and strenuous physical activity.
• Exposure to hazardous materials, extreme temperatures, and other dangerous conditions may occur.
• Unconventional working hours and occasional callback on scheduled days off may be required.

This is a part-time position, 2-3 days per week, up to 29 hours a week. Days are flexible.
