JOB SUMMARY:

The Facilities Technician is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and functional facility. Daily ongoing moderate to detail maintenance activities of offices, classrooms, outdoor areas and other spaces used by Operation Breakthrough.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma with minimum of (2) year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to move and lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an insurable driving record.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Knowledge of common building mechanical systems, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security system, fire suppression, and lawn maintenance
• Provide routine maintenance such as replacing bulbs and ballasts, minor to extensive plumbing, sewer and building repairs, patching and painting walls, assembling and moving furniture, etc.
• Keep facility and center’s equipment clean and in good working condition in accordance with programmatic, local, state and federal regulations.
• Document and inform supervisor of any interior or exterior safety or health concerns.
• Perform daily health and safety site inspections. Suggest improvements to provide safer environment for children, families and staff and assist with repairs.
• Ensure emergency exits are accessible and lighting is in safe, working condition and assist with the center’s emergency plan i.e. gas and water shut off.
• Take precautions to protect the health and safety of children, families, and staff and to protect equipment and facility.
• Work various hours, days, including evenings, and weekends depending on facility needs or in case of emergency.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
