The Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) has been the heart of the Indiana University Bloomington campus for more than 100 years. Everyday thousands of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests enjoy the many amenities and opportunities the IMU has to offer. This position is responsible for supporting all functions related to meeting support within the IMU, making sure no detail is overlooked. With nearly 100 years of special event experience, about 50,000 square feet of meeting space, and almost 30 venue spaces to choose from, the IMU hosts thousands of events each year. Job Summary Department-Specific Responsibilities
Assists with the set of function rooms for meetings, catering, and conferences.
Moves tables, chairs, staging, sound and AV equipment, computer equipment, etc.
Assists with technical set up.
Remains in direct contact with clients.
Qualifications EDUCATION Required
General knowledge at the high school level
SKILLS Required
Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information
Working Conditions / Demands This is a physically active position requiring mobility. Must have the ability to move and transfer equipment. This position requires the ability to move and transport objects and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation. Additional Information Uniforms and safety shoes are provided. Work Location Bloomington, Indiana This is an in-person position Advertised Salary $13.10 per hour Work Hours Variable hours including some nights and weekends.
