Subfunction Definition: The Floor Tech provides cleaning services to provide a safe, sanitary, comfortable and homelike environment for residents, staff and the public. Housekeeping Floor Tech services provided are in accord with facility policies and procedures and consistent with state and federal laws and regulations to maintain an environment that enhances the quality of life for residents.

• Responsible for making sure that all floor surfaces are properly cleaned and maintained
• Maintaining housekeeping storage areas, wall washing, moving furniture, assisting with trash removal, preparing resident rooms at discharge and admission to facility and be cross trained in laundry and housekeeping as necessary.
• Respects residents’ privacy and preferences about room arrangement, personal items. Knocks before entering resident rooms and bathrooms
• Always takes appropriate actions to secure supplies out of reach of residents
• Complies with all safety instructions and procedures when using chemical substances
• Keeps all chemicals and cleaning supplies in their original containers
• Assures all cleaning supplies are in anappropriate, labeled containers
• Disposes of trash and waste, including bio-hazardous waste and other materials that require special handling, only in accord with facility procedures.
• Posts signs indicating a safety hazard any time housekeeping activities pose environmental hazards to staff, residents, visitors or others in the facility
• Reports housekeeping and maintenance problems, including equipment breakdown, to Director of Housekeeping & Laundry promptly

Requirements:

• High School Diploma of equivalent

• 1 year of institutional food service experience
