Calvary Day School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Program Coordinator and Head Coach for the Varsity Soccer program. The Program Coordinator and Head Coach are responsible for the development of the Calvary Day School Soccer Program, including the vision, philosophy, professional development, coordination, instruction, and development of the entire program. The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing the student-athletes and staff with a quality sport experience in a biblically integrated environment. This position will include administrative and/or teaching responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

Assumes responsibility for the entire program which includes: Coaching the varsity squad and supervising JV & assistant coaches within the soccer program from PK-12.

Assists in the selection and evaluation of Junior Varsity and assistant coaching staff.

Works with the Calvary Day School AD in the following:

Communication of varsity soccer soccer schedule.

Arrangement and communication of travel for out-of-town trips.

Verification of student physical examination requirements of GHSA.

Preparation of athletic permission slips and eligibility lists.

Organization of soccer communication for the soccer program.

Works with Calvary Day School Athletic Director to correlate the practice schedules of JV & Varsity teams.

Supervises practice fields and playing fields during and following periods of team participation.

Remains with student-athletes and supervises them while traveling to away competitions.

Cares for student-athletes and works with the trainer to care for injured student-athletes.

Cares for, maintains, and oversees the storage of all equipment and uniforms.

Prepares award lists and season records.

Works closely with newspapers, radio, and television personnel to encourage favorable public interest in the program specifically and the school.

Attends all meetings regarding participation in arts and athletics as it pertains to Calvary Day School Admissions.

Attends all state meetings where the program is involved and operates within the policies of GHSA and Calvary Day School.

Encourages participation in Calvary One organization and volunteer opportunities for parents.

Works closely with Calvary Day School AD in preparation and control of field facilities.

Keeps informed on current trends in soccer and attends and participates in clinics.

Maintains active membership in related professional organizations.

Informs faculty & staff of student-athletes missing school for games.

Maintains a positive staff relationship with other coaches.

Communicate with student-athletes about personal development during the season as well as the off-season.

Host meetings with parents to inform them about the program as well as your expectations of them and the student-athletes.

Leads by example regarding the promotion of sportsmanship.

Promotes the varsity soccer program by encouraging the participation of student-athletes in the upcoming season.

Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and on trips off school property following the Student Rights &

Responsibilities.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Calvary Day School AD.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in coaching soccer at a competitive level, with a strong understanding of soccer techniques, safety standards, performance strategies, and collegiate participation.

Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.

Commitment to the total development of student-athletes, including their spiritual, academic, social, and physical well-being.

Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and community members to promote a positive and inclusive cheerleading program.
