Levite JCC is seeking an experienced part-time Head Swim Coach for our summer swim team with potential to expand into a year-round coaching role. This role encompasses swim meet management, administrative tasks, parent communication, effective and engaging coaching, and team leadership. The Head Coach will play a pivotal role in growing, advancing, and nurturing the competitive swim team.

Essential Functions:

• As the Head Swim Team Coach, the primary objective is to design and implement organized training programs tailored to swimmers of various ages and skill levels, with a focus on coordinating practice sessions and training programs that prioritize athletic advancement and growth.
• Effective communication with swimmers, parents, fellow staff, and department heads is crucial and compulsory for the success of this position.
• Organize and execute home team hosted meets by ensuring volunteers are recruited, registrations are complete in a timely manner, Swimmingly app is set up in accordance with JSSC rules and expectations
• Send regular communication to parents regarding upcoming meets and practices
• Hold start of season parent meeting
• Meet weekly with the Aquatics Director
• Actively recruit new swimmers and market the program.
• Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive team environment.
• Fulfill any additional responsibilities as directed by the Aquatics Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Prior experience coaching teams, preferably at least 1 year coaching swimming
• Expertise in competitive swimming techniques.
• Current knowledge of basic USA Swimming/JSSC Swimming rules and standards
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, AED, First Aid certification and Safety Training for coaches or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated capacity to uphold the highest standards of leadership, sportsmanship, and respect.
• Flexibility to work evenings, mornings, and weekends in alignment with practice and swim meet schedules. Ability to get in the water during practices when needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with program participants, parents, and members.
• Dedication to promoting a positive attitude, academic achievement, and personal growth among team members.
• Possession of all necessary coaching certifications.
• A high school diploma is required, while a bachelor's degree is preferred.
