Summary
The Zoo Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the zoo facilities at the Ararat Ridge Zoo. The Zoo Facilities Technician's duties include habitat upgrades, repairs, maintenance and enrichment builds. The ideal candidate is Passionate about the Answers in Genesis attractions, serving others, enthusiastic, and energetic. This position provides opportunities for spiritual, personal, and professional development while having fun along the way.
Responsibilities

• Promote the Mission and Standards of Answers in Genesis
• Demonstrate our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) in all work
• Approach all tasks with a "go the second-mile" mindset
• Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments

• Operate hand tools such as saws, drills, etc.
• Operate heavy equipment such as mowers, forklifts, skid steers, snowplows, etc.
• Perform needed repairs on the zoo facilities
• Perform light construction duties to improve habitats
• Assist with inspections and preventive maintenance of zoo facilities
• Assures the safety of self, staff, guests, and animals in the performance of assigned duties

• Coordinate with other departments on projects and needs
• Ability to work safely in a variety of environments and weather conditions
• And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications
Requirements

• Ability to bend and lift 50-100 pounds
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• In possession of a valid driver's license
• Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith
• Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ

• Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church

Education & Experience

• Minimum 2 years experience in construction/ facility maintenance or relevant fields
• Ability to work independently and take initiative

• Attention to high fit and finish detail
