Equitas Academy Charter Schools is Hiring an Equitas Alumni After School Aide Near Los Angeles, CA

The mission of Equitas Academy Charter Schools is to provide a structured, achievement-based community that prepares students to graduate from four-year colleges and universities. We currently serve over 2,000 students and operate four elementary schools and two middle schools in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The Alumni Assistant will provide homework help and academic support in all subjects. We look for energized, driven, and approachable Equitas alumni who can support current students while serving as a positive role model.

Essential Responsibilities:

Homework Support

  • Provide homework assistance to a small group of students in all school subjects (math, reading, comprehension, science, social studies).
  • Provide a supportive learning environment where students can gain assistance with their homework.
  • Communicate regularly with staff to provide updates on student progress.
Family, Alumni, Community Engagement (FACE) Team and Middle School Collaboration
  • Build relationships with middle school scholars, families, teachers, and staff.
  • Collaborate with FACE Team
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be empathetic, organized, and patient when interacting with all students.
  • Must be responsible for getting to and from EQ2 on their own and on time.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and motivate students to complete high quality work.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with students and adults.
Minimum Requirements
  • Age 14
  • Currently enrolled in high school or college
  • 2.0 GPA or higher with a grade of “C” or better in math and English classes

  • 4-6 hours a week
  • Monday - Wednesday, 3:30 - 5:30pm (preferred)
