Baptist Health is Hiring a Nursing Support Tech Cardiac ICU Part Time Night Shift Near Louisville, KY

Job Description:
Part Time 24 weekly hours, night shift
Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) - 3rd Floor 4002 Building
The CICU is a 10 bed critical care unit specializing in cardiac, intensive level care. Patients with severe heart diseases such as severe CAD, AMI, post arrest, cardiomyopathy, and arrhythmias that need continuous monitoring will be cared for on this unit. Assistive devices, including balloon pumps, impellas, and temporary pacemakers, as well as invasive monitoring devices like SWANs and a-lines are common on CICU. The CICU typically staffs with a one or two nurse to patient ratio to provide critical care. The patient population ranges from adults through geriatrics. BCLS and ACLS are/will be required. New graduate nurses are welcome.
Job Summary
The Nurse Assistant Tech is an individual with clerical aptitude and abilities that assist the nursing staff by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties in caring for patients. This individual performs multiple job functions as indicated. All functions must be within the scope of training and instruction received and are under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Nursing Assistant Provides basic physical care
2.Assists the patient with meeting nutritional needs
3.Assists patients with activity as designated
4.Maintains a safe environment for the patient according to policy and procedure
5.Demonstrates role accountability to the patient, unit and the nursing department
6.Performs and documents appropriate procedures according to hospital policy and procedure.
7.Performs duties that enhance organization of patient care on the unit
8.Transcribes Orders according to policy and procedure
9.Medical record maintenance
10.Documents appropriately and according to policy and procedure on the medical record
11.Enters and transmits computer system information to other department accurately and in a timely manner
12.Initiates cardiac monitoring and maintains equipment and supplies
13.Documents and communicates information regarding patient rhythms and Oxygen saturation
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience
A. High School graduate or GED preferred
B. Knowledge of medial terminology preferred
C. Experience with computers preferred
D. BCLS required within 90 days of hire
