Job Title: Consecutive Interpreter
Location: Remote
Job Type: Contract • Full time and Part Time
A 360 Smart Lingo consecutive, over-the-phone interpreter plays a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between those who speak different languages. Consecutive interpreters work by listening to a speaker in one language and then rendering their speech into another language after a brief pause.
As a consecutive interpreters, you will bridge language gaps, ensuring clarity and understanding in various over-the-phone situations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide consecutive interpretation services during phone calls, meetings, conferences, interviews, and more.
- Listen carefully to the speaker in the source language and convey the message accurately in the target language.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity throughout the interpretation process.
- Take notes during the speaker’s pauses to ensure accurate rendering of the entire message.
- Respect HIPAA, and comply with various policies and best practices.
- Collaborate with other interpreters and team members as needed.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in at least two languages (source and target languages).
- Strong memory and note-taking skills.
- Excellent communication and active listening abilities.
- Familiarity with various subject matters (legal, medical, business, etc.).
- Professional demeanour and adaptability to different contexts.
Compensation:
- Per minute rate based on experience and qualifications.
