Job Description The Quality Lead is a hands-on role and plays a critical role in our company's success. This role will have a significant impact on our company's ability to provide the highest quality seafood, terrestrial protein, and gourmet foods to our customers. This role also ensures our supporting efforts, such as GMPs, HACCP compliance, employee training, and quality assurance, are all effective and continuing to improve over time. Your time will be spent approximately as follows: Training and Development-self and others-(20%), compliance and administrative tasks (40%), time spent on the floor answering questions, inspecting product, and ensuring compliance (40%).

Pay Range: $55,000 - $60,000
Job Type: Full time
Schedule: Sunday -Thursday; mix of AM and PM shifts
Key Roles and Responsibilities: - Help ensure all Food Safety, HACCP, Quality, and GMP requirements and programs are followed, modeling the appropriate behavior personally and ensuring your team's compliance.
- Coordinate all efforts with the Food Safety Manager
- Continually improve the caliber of our quality techs and production employees through feedback, coaching, training, and accountability using an engaging leadership style
- Regularly interact with and support other departments using professional and prompt written and verbal communication.
- Actively support all Company Safety efforts and initiatives, including OSHA standards
- Work with the Production or Inventory Control Manager to achieve key operational metrics centered around quality and product dumps
- Accurately complete and take ownership for any necessary administrative tasks
- Ensure their teams are actively supporting our goal of providing our customers with the highest quality product and orders filled accurately
- Understand key business metrics and KPIs and ensure your department is achieving their goals. You must have a solutions mindset and the resilience to overcome obstacles
- Safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, lift trucks, etc.
- Specific roles, responsibilities, and job duties can vary and may change over time
Qualifications Effective Quality Leads: - Are internally motivated to achieve goals and work well in an autonomous environment
- Focus their efforts on proactive tasks to ensure poor quality products are never shipped to our customers
- Have a relentless focus on Continuous Improvement and generating creative solutions
- Are meticulously detailed in their administrative work, ensuring all our compliance efforts are followed and accurate
- Are great communicators. They clearly communicate to their teams, to their manager, to their peers all relevant information to help others do their jobs.
- Take ownership of their development. They are willing to ask for help or feedback, they act on development needs presented by their manager, and make efforts to grow their knowledge and skills
- Understand the value of a structured routine, but have the ability to shift priorities quickly if business needs dictate
- Are able to identify common trends quickly and are able to create impactful plans to fix the root cause
- Are able to effectively influence the behavior of others through coaching and feedback
Other Requirements: Preferred Experience: - 2-3 years comparable leadership experience in a warehouse or production environment
- HACCP certified (we can provide certification for the right candidate)
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required, B.S. or B.A. a plus
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications and ability to learn and use Teams effectively
- Knowledge of Seafood is a huge plus!
- Some schedule flexibility. We value a work/life balance, but have a very seasonal business that requires flexibility from the company and its leaders
Quality Leads will typically work in various temperatures, but regularly in refrigerated or frozen areas of the warehouse and ambient office environments. This can be a physically demanding position, requiring frequent periods of sitting, standing, climbing, bending, crouching, lifting, pushing, and pulling. There is frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Other duties and responsibilities outside of those listed above may be required from time to time.
