As a Lead Teacher, your role is critical to our ministry by being responsible for all aspects of the care & education for the children enrolled in his/her class.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

Support Children Services Team:

• Leads lesson plan team meetings with all teachers
• Leads parent meetings for the Child Development Center
• Assists teachers with creating supplemental activities and materials to tailor curriculum for the facility’s specific clientele and their unique needs
• Leads monthly parent meetings for the Child Development Center to keep parents up to date on how to assist in the classroom and make their children more successful

Provide Care to Children:

• Ensure the safety of each child enrolled in the class whether in the classroom, on the playground, or in common areas
• Maintain regular observation and evaluation of children's development and progress as directed by the administration
• Maintain portfolio for each student
• Formulates weekly lesson plans for own classroom and other teachers based on designated curriculum
• Accept and maintain responsibility daily for the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and cleanliness of the learning environment of the classroom
• Create safe and appropriate diapering, toileting, and handwashing areas and help children with all personal hygiene skills
• Plan and implement age and developmentally appropriate classroom practices that will include the areas of physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs of the young children
• Serve as a role model for the children in the areas of attitude, speech, and actions on a daily basis
• Treat each child with dignity and respect for his/her cultural background
• Encourage children's development in the areas of building self-confidence, problem-solving, and taking responsibility for their actions
• Interact with each child daily through circle time, centers, snacks, lunchtime, playground, free play, etc.
• Nurture positive relationships with parents and establish continual communication.
• Ensure that all policies and procedures are being followed to secure licensing standards
• Maintain individual Ga PDS account

Position Requirements:

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or
• Three (3) plus years of experience in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with one (1) plus years of experience; or
• Teaching Certificate or Child Development Associate Certificate with two (2) plus years of experience
• Demonstrated track record of dealing with diverse demographic
• Excellent listening skills and a teachable spirit with the ability to learn from others
• Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite applications; and experience working in a donor database, 
• Creative and critical thinker
• Leadership experience
• Demonstrated ability of working in a licensed, quality rated center
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public 
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

CERTIFICATION OR LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid adult & infant CPR/First Aid Certificate

Physical Requirements:

• Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, sitting and/or walking)
• Must be able to communicate accurate information
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs
