Superform USA is seeking a Junior Design Engineer for its busy Riverside Manufacturing Facility. This position is responsible for developing detailed tool designs, suitable for Superforming and subsequent downstream processing of Aluminum, Magnesium, and Titanium parts, from electronic part definition data through to fully functional engineered CATIAV5 tool designs ready for manufacture.
The Jr. Design Engineer will also be involved in supporting other departments with the need of CAD assistance from quoting to manufacturing work instructions to shop floor blueprints.

What you’ll be involved with:

• Supporting the incoming new quotes by evaluating customer-supplied 3D data for SPF feasibility
• Conduct SPF tool design using a combination of Catia V5 CAD software paired with PAMSTAMP finite element software.
• Work with colleagues in other areas of the business, to build a proactive team environment by assisting in tool proving trials and designing and qualifying assembly and inspection fixtures.
• Interface with Superform's supplier and vendor base ensuring that tool designs are as manufacturing friendly as possible.
• Provide support to all internal manufacturing functions to help improve process efficiency and part quality.
• Read and modify blueprints and specifications applying GD&T practices.
• Manage incoming digital data from the customers and outgoing data to toolmakers and suppliers.

What we would like you to have:

• Engineering degree and at least 1 year of relevant work experience. (4 years of experience is preferred in the absence of a degree.)
• Confident in the use of CATIA V5 Workbenches-Generative Surface Design, Part Design, Assembly Design, Drafting (Two to four years’ experience preferred).
• Ability to apply understanding of GD&T, Fits and tolerances, and Jigs and fixturing.
• Ability to problem solve and deal with variables.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information:

• $28.00 to $34.00 hourly DOE (depending on experience)
•  Monday thru Thursday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
