Description
SUMMARY
Provides the necessary administrative support to ensure medical records are maintained and services are documented in accordance with applicable regulations and accreditation standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintain organization, filing and storage of all Residential treatment medical records.
- Assist in medical records audit/review preparation as needed.
- Prepare medical records as youth are admitted and ensure all intake documentation is received.
- Prepare discharge medical records and other documents as needed for transfer to offsite storage location.
- Process and fulfill applicable medical records requests in a timely matter and per applicable regulations.
- Complete various tracking spreadsheets (client utilization, incident reports, documentation, etc.) to provide Residential and interagency departments with required data.
- Enter serious incident data for Residential youth in SDCC's internal electronic health record per required timeframes.
- Submit required documentation (serious incident reports, quarterly reports, treatment updates, etc.) to external entities as indicated and per specified timeframes to comply with applicable regulations and contractual obligations.
- Take appropriate measures to ensure confidentiality of protected health information and records.
- Immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions, areas of risk, or accidents in their department and or organization to immediate supervisor.
- Fulfill all contractual and organizational training requirements.
- Perform special projects, assignments and other related duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- At least one year of experience in administrative work, medical records and/or quality assurance/improvement.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Experience working with an electronic health record system.
- Associate degree.
