Essential duties and responsibilities:

• All aspects of Accounts Payable including but not limited to, entering invoices, vendor inquiries, verifying payments, and updating vendor accounts.
• Handling the financial aspect of private, commercial, and industrial real estate sales, rentals, and purchases.
• Performing real estate-related accounting, asset management, and bookkeeping duties for a company.
• Prepare monthly financial reports on the cash and accrual basis, prepare journal entries.
• Prepare bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
• Prepare year-end closing workpapers to provide to outside accountants for audits and preparation of tax returns.
• Analyze property income and expenses and prepare variance analysis in conjunction with the property managers.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
• Filing and other administrative tasks.
• Other special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 1-3 years of accounting experience within a Property Management, Real Estate or related field.

• Knowledge of accrual basis a must.
• Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to complete a multitude of tasks while adhering to strict deadlines.
• Proficient with MS Excel and Word.
• Experience in Yardi required.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
