Overview The Relief House Manager provides coverage for upcoming. The Relief staff runs the Shelter program under the supervision of the Program Manager/Coordinator. House Managers are responsible for ensuring that the house runs smoothly according to the program guidelines and structure. They are available to the residents for support, and are responsible for enforcing all of the rules and policies of the house. Essential Job Functions
Manages the operations of the program during the evening and weekends
Responsible for admitting residents as they enter shelter with Heading Home, and ensuring the appropriateness of each resident for placement at the Shelter
Responsible for making supplies available, including food for the resident's snacks and lunches
Reads and updates staff logs with any and all important information that occurs during their shift
Maintains appropriate logs of evening and weekend activities
Attends scheduled staff meetings
Adheres to all agency and program policies, procedures and rules
Performs other tasks as assigned by Program Coordinator

Qualifications
Some college preferred
Two years of experience with homeless, disabilities and/or other disenfranchised groups preferred
Previous work with homeless individuals and/or families, disabilities or other at-risk populations
Ability to work alone and handle crises with good judgment, adequate communication skills - both written and oral
Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend stairs up to three or more sets, frequently move equipment weighing up to 5-20 lbs., and remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
