**Learning Specialist - Front Desk/Registration**

**Position Summary**
The Learning Specialist Front Desk/Registration is responsible for new hire and ongoing training and development of Front Desk team members as well as quality monitoring and reporting on productivity and accuracy of registration. The goal is to ensure that outstanding performance and service are delivered to both patients and ACCESS team members. This position collaborates with Clinical Operations, the Patient ACCESS Committee, Revenue Cycle, Contact Center, Learning and Development, and IS Training.
**Core Job Responsibilities**
* Partners with Learning and Development and Clinical Operations staff to design and develop competency-based education and training on front desk scheduling and registration processes and procedures
* Develop and maintain knowledge of front desk scheduling and registration best practices
* Conduct new hire training, ongoing training (onsite in-services) and annual competencies for front desk staff
* Collaborates with subject matter experts and other ACCESS training staff to ensure consistency of educational materials and messages to create scheduling and registration standards for patient benefit specialists, front desk staff and contact center.
* Track training completion and evaluation, maintain training and performance quality records; provide reporting as requested
* Monitor all aspects of front desk service quality including customer service and compliance with internal and external requirements; make recommendations to address concerns and/or gaps; provide feedback and coaching as appropriate.
* Maintains procedures and guidelines affecting patient scheduling and registration at all points of contact
* Keep health center and regional management informed of questions, trends, obstacles and challenges. Make recommendations to resolve.
* Coordinate training schedules, materials, rooms, and equipment as needed
* Maintain current knowledge of health insurance options and public health benefits, including but not limited to Medicaid, Medicare, Ryan White, WIC, SNAP.
* Initiate quality improvement reviews to monitor integrity of data gathered and entered in Epic
* Participate in process improvement activities to enhance and ensure compliance with patient scheduling and registration.
**Required Qualifications**
* Bachelors degree in education, instructional design or healthcare related field or a minimum of five (5) years experience in healthcare education field
* Two years of experience in a trainer/instructor role
* Two years of experience with electronic health record system required (EPIC preferred)
* Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook required; Teams preferred)
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Two years of experience working in health care revenue cycle
* One year of experience with a learning management system
* Experience with virtual instruction
* Bilingual (English/Spanish)
