Hope Autism Clinic Director of Diagnostics - Illinois (Statewide) / St. Louis Area

SUMMARY

The Director of Diagnostics provides supervision and training for clinical psychologists and postdoctoral fellows and completes comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations and screenings in accordance with all professional best practices and guidelines.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Conduct autism screenings with the function of identifying patients for full diagnostic services .
  • Perform comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations that include administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – 2nd Edition, clinical interview with caregivers, and assessment of cognition and adaptive function.
  • Compose diagnostic reports and review the findings/recommendations with families; approves and co-sign reports completed by postdoctoral fellows.
  • Provide supervision and feedback to clinical psychologists and postdoctoral fellows and complete annual evaluations for all supervisees.
  • Responsible for didactic trainings and ordering clinical supplies.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the intake, billing, and clinical teams for scheduling, authorizations, and billing related items.
  • Expand diagnostic team by recruiting new clinical psychologists and establishing diagnostics in new areas of Hope operational footprint.
  • Participate in special projects or other clinical work, outside of diagnostics, as prescribed.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Ph.D./Psy.D. from an APA-accredited Clinical/Counseling/School Psychology program.
  • Active licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Illinois and Missouri.
  • Eligibility for enrollment with insurance companies and Medicaid.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA regulations.
  • Full operational knowledge of all APA ethical standards.
  • Skill in cultural competency and the ability to communicate effectively in a culturally sensitive manner with both individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to establish, develop and maintain cooperative relationships within and outside of Hope as well as across clinical fields of study with individuals in varying professional levels.
  • Familiarity and comfort with travel between St. Louis, O’Fallon, and Springfield with additional travel potential as team is built and operational footprint expanded.

WHAT WE PREFER

  • At least 3 years prior experience working with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder and Developmental Disabilities.
  • Expertise in the administration and interpretation of psychological evaluations, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – 2nd Edition.
  • Thorough knowledge of The Autism Clinic at Hope’s policies and procedures.
