POSITION SUMMARY

The MRP is responsible for sourcing strategically and for managing inventory and suppliers to ensure the right materials are available at the right time.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

• Sources strategically to achieve best overall value (including quality, speed, price and innovative value) and most profit, with a focus on the customer experience

• Classifies materials by matrix quadrant (internal categorization list for vendors) and implements best approach for strategic sourcing

• Works closely with the Supply Chain Manager and Production for the ETP division to meet customer needs

• Interfaces with production staff and management on material status

• Seeks Customer Intelligence and continuous improvement, such as inventory turnover objectives and annual cost savings initiatives

• Improve and leverage key vendor relationships

• Ensure alternative suppliers are available for key material components and critical outside services

• Tracks and reports KPl's, stays abreast of business issues, and proactively anticipates and resolves issues

• Documents and manages supplier performance against scorecard

• Create and track purchase order confirmations and update as needed

• Resolve issues with delivery, pricing, and invoicing

• Must be able to perform the physical demands of the position including navigating within the plant and between buildings

EDUCATION

Associate degree or higher in a related field, or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE

Two years' strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment including supplier contracts and negotiations
