Role Overview:
As a Job Coach / Employment Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their potential within the community.
Responsibilities:
● Provide transportation to and from residences, job sites, and community activities.
● Offer on-the-job guidance, assistance, and coaching.
● Engage in physical support tasks such as bending, assisting with lifts (if applicable), pushing, pulling, reaching, and prolonged walking.
● Assist service recipients in goal setting, documenting progress, and evaluating their development daily.
● Fulfill additional tasks delegated by supervisors.
Required Skills:
● Punctuality and reliability are crucial.
● Strong advocacy skills for others.
● Proficiency in guiding, motivating, and directing individuals.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality.
● Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
● Basic proficiency in computer and phone usage.
Qualifications:
● Preferred education in social work or psychology.
● Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
● Preferred training in mental health and first aid.
Requirements:
● Valid driver's license.
● Access to a working vehicle with a clean driving record and active insurance.
● Completion of orientation and annual training sessions.
Schedule:
● Part-time or full-time opportunities available.
● Flexible morning and afternoon shifts.
● Weekly hours ranging from 10 to 40.
Compensation and Benefits:
● Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
● Signing Bonus: $500 distributed upon meeting specific milestones
● Health, dental, and life insurance for employees regularly scheduled for a minimum of 24 hours per week.
