COMMUNITY COUNSELING CENTERS OF CHICAGO is Hiring an Associate Director of Community and Rapid Response Near Chicago, IL

Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to provide clinical and programmatic leadership for the programs of the Community Engagement division of C4. These programs include, but are not limited to, SASS, ESOC, ES, and Crisis Prevention. The Associate Director shall perform supervisory duties that ensure the quality of clinical work and empower staff to advance to further levels of competency. They shall train clinical staff and supervisors on service provision, data collection, documentation, and program development.

They shall work to develop relationships with DCFS and DMH funded agencies, and other mental health service providers throughout the north and west sides of Chicago and suburbs. Additionally, they will be expected to participate in grant provision, grant collaboratives and data collection/submission. Developing and maintaining partnerships within the Chicagoland area for the purposes of care coordination, program development, and service provision will be essential.

Location and Work Conditions:

The Associate Directors primary work location shall be in an office setting at one of C4s locations. However, they shall also work in the communities that C4 serves, primarily to provide onsite training and address staffing shortages. They shall provide on-call staffing coverage, which might include certain weekends, some overnight shifts, and occasional holidays. Work may be stressful due to consumer trauma, periods of high call volume, or tight deadlines.

This position will allow for 25% remote work, as approved and determined by the needs of the teams and in coordination with the Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the effective management and efficient integration of service delivery functions, including continuity, consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness for the Crisis Prevention, Case Management, and FSP programs.
  • Engages in grant development, submission, coordination, and data collection related to above mentioned programs.
  • Develops, researches, promotes and participates in training opportunities applicable to identified team members and for the clinical enhancement of identified teams and program goals
  • Assist with the creation of short and long-range service delivery operating strategies for C4, remaining accountable for the implementation of such strategies in all relevant service areas
  • Develops, implements, evaluates, and ensures compliance with C4s service delivery policies, procedures, and reporting requirements
  • Directs and oversees supervisors of assigned teams, with the goal of enhancing their ability and skill set in supervising clinical staff and improving clinical competency of their teams.
  • Schedules employees to provide adequate coverage for supervised programs
  • Ensures documentation quality, completion and compliance at all times, as well as monitors timelines and agency policies and procedures according to C4s guidelines.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and accreditation requirements related to service delivery policies, practices, and reporting standards.
  • Is responsible for performance feedback and formal evaluation, and disciplinary action in consultation with direct supervisor.
  • Develops, coaches, guides, and determines individual performance expectations for direct reports.
  • Provides back-up for Quality and Utilization Manager in coordinating audits by credentialing and funding bodies, to include management and monitoring of production expectations and produced work product.
  • Initiates, cultivates and maintains professional relationships within C4 to enhance communications, support, and service alignment.
  • Always maintains compliance with confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Initiates, cultivates, and maintains professional relationships within and outside of C4, to include, but not limited to human services and governmental agencies, health service vendors, and public and private groups to enhance communication, shared vision, support, program alignment, service delivery, and agency presence.
  • Works closely with C4 leadership to evaluate systems for process improvements and efficiencies
  • Communicates effectively with the President/CEO and Senior Director, by providing routine status reports, and advising of significant problems, including operational issues, that interfere with the achievement of service objectives
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in social work or a related field
  • Must be licensed in the state of Illinois as: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Prior not-for-profit experience with a mental healthcare provider
  • Clinical expertise in providing counseling/case-management services to adults and children with mental illness, across all ranges of severity
  • At least three years of superior leadership experience including direct staff management (i.e., feedback, coaching, and staff development)
  • Personal vehicle, valid drivers license, insurable driving record, and vehicle insurance

Competencies (Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Experience):

  • Detailed and extensive knowledge of community-based mental health operational management and proven management skills, including evaluation of clinical efficiency and effectiveness
  • Detailed and current knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices, with an emphasis on trauma informed care and intervention
  • Significant knowledge of governmental, funding, and accreditation requirements in the State of Illinois
  • Demonstrated leadership experience including direct staff management, internship supervision, or licensure supervision.
  • Clinical competencies, including trauma-informed and brief therapy techniques, as aligned with training mandated by C4
  • Knowledge of and ability to use appropriate de-escalation and brief therapy techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral skills to communicate effectively with all levels of organizational leadership, employees, governmental and community representatives, and vendors
  • Ability to comprehend complex ideas, develop solutions to problems, and to analyze qualitative and quantitative data
  • Ability to cooperate within a team
  • Adherence to confidentiality practices and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to be respectful of the diverse cultures of the people served and to provide culturally appropriate, competent and individualized treatment in accordance with each clients age, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, and culture
  • Ability to present a positive image of C4 to clients and visitors
  • Ability to work under stress and successfully handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
