Job Description
STATE TESTED NURSING ASSISTANT. JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary : The STNA is responsible for assisting residents and Community staff with daily living activities which may include, but are not limited to dressing, ambulating, toileting and safe transfer.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current, unencumbered state certification to practice as a STATE TESTED NURSING ASSISTANT (STNA)
- Minimum one (1) year of STNA experience required, based on state requirement.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing resident services
- Ability to compose and maintain documentation.
- Current CPR certification, based on state requirements.
- Copy of updated physical, based on state requirements.
- Copy of updated TB results/chest x-ray
- Must complete a minimum of twelve (12) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) annually
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Assist residents and nursing staff with basic care services such as bathing, grooming and feeding.
- Assist nursing staff with medical equipment and checking patient vitals.
- Provide residents with important social and emotional support.
- Prepare and maintain records of resident progress and services performed, reporting changes in resident condition to the manager or supervisor.
- Participate in case reviews, consulting with the care team, evaluating the resident needs and plan for continuing services.
- Other duties as assigned.
