Job Description
The Utah State Hospital is seeking full-time employees to prepare and serve food for both patients and employees at the beautiful Utah State Hospital campus.

The ideal candidate

At minimum , the Food Service Worker II will:

• have a food handlers permit or Servsafe certificate
• have experience cooking in an institutional environment
• have experience preparing and setting up for catered events
• be able to routinely lift 50 pounds
• be able to cheerfully adapt to unforeseen changes, such as staffing needs and menu adaptations
• may help in maintaining food storage areas

The ideal candidate for this position will have a few years of experience in the food service industry with demonstrated career growth history. We are looking for someone who will be a positive addition to the team, willing and capable of the work required to prepare and serve over 1200 daily meals to our patients and staff.

Typical Qualifications

• Risks found in the typical kitchen setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of kitchen equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
• Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
