Main duties of the job

Bank Mental Health Inpatient Healthcare Assistant

Barrow in Furness

Band 3 - £ an hour enhancements for unsociable hours As a Bank Band 3 HCA you will have a minimum of six months experience working in a caring role within mental health, care homes or as a home carer.

You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues that contribute to mental health issues and person-centred recovery.

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications

Essential

Can demonstrate the skills and knowledge gained through a minimum of 6 months' work / experience (paid / unpaid) in a care setting

Desirable

Currently hold a NVQ Level II or Higher in Health and Social Care or QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care.

Knowledge

Essential

• Understands their duties and responsibilities under the Data Protection Act with regard to patient confidentiality.

Experience

Essential

Experience of working with service users with mental health problems

Desirable

• Up to date or working knowledge of de-escalation techniques
