Develop and implement overall commodity strategy for heavy metal products of Steam Turbines while demonstrating the alliances with Gas Turbine and Generator. De-risk supplier dependencies, ensure capacities, reduce lead times, reduce cost of supply base and support business growth.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Managing and defining the sourcing strategy with cross-functional counterparts and support from Global Commodity Management, and in alignment with business
- Leading the Commodity Circle with the support of cross-functional team members
- Creating and implementing business-specific initiatives and measures based on commodity strategy in alignment with SE Ecosystem strategy and business objectives as demonstrating the commonalities between Large Steam Turbine and the product segments Large Gas Turbine and Generator, supply chain resilience, product cost reduction, supporting the business growth and India sourcing
- Managing the relationship with assigned strategic suppliers, sometimes even beyond the boundaries. Identifying risks & opportunities and implement respective measures
- Completing periodic strategic procurement activities: negotiations planning, commodity strategy updates, awarding strategy and sourcing board approvals, quarterly review meetings, etc.
- Prepares and individually negotiates framework agreement, price agreements or individual contracts with the suppliers according to the business requirements
What You Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree, or equivalent experience in engineering, business, or a related field is required
- Longterm relevant Supply Chain Management experience as well as a thorough understanding of metal processing such as melting, forging and welding is preferred
- Strong strategic and analytical abilities to quickly grasp challenges and opportunities while formulating overarching solutions
- An innovative mentality and a strong motivation to drive positive change as well as excellent interpersonal and persuasive skills and experience in designing eEvents (eAuctions, eBiddings) are a plus
- Proficiency in English for business purposes and conversational skills in German
- Relocation to Mülheim or high travel flexibility to travel to Mülheim according to the business needs
