Optical Transmission Test Engineer

Location: Bydgoszcz

General description

Development and maintenance of test environment for testing Nokia products. Analyze, design, develop and test products/ services/improvements/bug resolutions for integrated hardware/ software systems as per customers' requirements. Work within broad guidelines and use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues. Work with substantial discretion and uses specialist knowledge, analytical skills, judgment and broad conceptual and practical experience to solve complex problems and to contribute to process improvements. Provide working leadership and training to less experienced personnel. Define product hardware/software evolutions through the creation and release of hardware / software documentation, hardware/software change control management, supplier and customer notifications. Apply and maintain quality standards. Participate in process and tools evolutions and improvements.

Requirements

• Experienced in configuration and test of telecommunication products (Optical transmission, MicroWave, IP/MPLS)
• Familiarity with UNIX shell environment
• Detailed technical knowledge of telecommunication products
• Engineer or Master degree in telecommunication
• Basic knowledge of the requirements of ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 27001 standards and ESD
• Experience in creation and maintenance of test environment for complex telecommunication products
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Eagerness to constantly acquire new knowledge.
• Flexibility, being adaptable in performing other functional areas

Main responsibilities

• Defines test methodology for Nokia optical and radio transmission products
• Creates and setup test workstations for Nokia optical and radio transmission products
• Solves software and hardware problems what occurred during testing
• Software and hardware maintenance of test environment
• Creates training documentation and train of system test employees
• Participation in team work to maintain and develop Quality, Environment & Health System and Information Security management system according to requirements of standards: TL 9000, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, including LSS
• Actively uses Nokia EDU as a source for learning solutions for increasing knowledge of Nokia products & processes and increase the quality education, skills and experience
