Job Description
The Service Engineering Group, part of the European Development Center, develops cutting-edge software solutions to enable the Oracle Platinum Services, Oracle Advanced Customer Services, Cloud Services & Support Service businesses.
We are looking for Senior Software Engineers to be part of our continuously growing team of highly skilled professionals.
As a senior engineer you will be responsible for engineering solutions used in the provision of advanced services to Oracle Customers. You will provide thought-leadership in the design and creation of these services in partnership with product management and delivery organizations. We focus on providing solutions that will enable the release of a continual value add to our customers.
We are looking particularly for individuals who have experience in the following:
- Write code in Java, SpringBoot3, PL/SQL that meets the functional specifications
- Create RESTful web services using Java and SpringBoot3
- Collaborate with business owners to understand and elaborate on requirements.
- Collaborate with architects to collaborate on Design and Implementation.
- Develop unit and integration tests using Java and API test script (i.e. postman scripting)
- Assist with build and deployment automation scripts
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in the application

Responsibilities
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.
Qualifications
- Expert programmer in Java
- Thorough understanding of microservices, Spring/SpringBoot, Kubernetes, Kafka, ELK (Kibana), Ambassador, ALM
- Experience writing RESTful web services, web socket.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and RDBMS database design
- Have spent time as part of an agile development team (preferably Scrum)
- Excellent in verbal and written communication with an analytical and meticulous working manner.
