About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Account Manager – Public Sector to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in selling IT solutions and services within the public sector, particularly through a system integrator environment. This role requires strong client relationship skills, strategic sales planning, and a deep understanding of public sector procurement processes and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of public sector accounts, including government ministries, statutory boards, and educational institutions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each client's IT landscape, business objectives, and challenges.
  • Drive sales of system integration services and solutions including cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and managed services.
  • Work closely with technical pre-sales, solution architects, and delivery teams to develop tailored proposals and solutions.
  • Prepare and respond to government tenders, RFPs, and quotations in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Meet and exceed assigned sales targets and KPIs through proactive account planning and pipeline management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key public sector stakeholders and ecosystem partners.
  • Stay informed on public sector digital transformation initiatives, procurement trends, and budget cycles.
  • Represent the company at industry events, vendor briefings, and government-related forums.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in account management, business development, or sales roles within a system integrator or IT service provider.
  • Strong understanding of the public sector ecosystem, procurement models, and tendering process in [Insert Country/Region].
  • Proven ability to manage long sales cycles and close complex, high-value deals.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working with partners such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud is an advantage.
  • Self-motivated, strategic thinker with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
