The Opportunity
This is a pivotal leadership mandate to revitalise, stabilise, and grow a long-standing consumer-facing retail business in Singapore. The incoming Managing Director will have full P&L ownership and lead the organisation through its next phase of transformation - driving relevance, efficiency, and sustainable profitability in a fast-evolving, competitive retail environment.
The right-fit candidate must be bilingual in Chinese/Mandarin and English due to the nature of internal and external communications.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership to deliver profitable growth, customer engagement, and long-term brand health across the Singapore business
Oversee all functions including retail operations, marketing, merchandising, HR, finance, supply chain, and digital
Develop and execute strategies to modernise the business while preserving its core identity and loyal customer base
Champion digital transformation and omni-channel integration to strengthen competitiveness
Build a high-performing, customer-focused leadership team aligned with the company's transformation goals
Collaborate closely with the Regional CEO and Board to ensure alignment with group objectives
Represent the Singapore business in regional forums and board-level discussions
Key Requirements
Proven track record as a sitting General Manager, Managing Director, or CEO within the retail sector
Strong experience managing large-scale teams and retail operations with full P&L accountability
Demonstrated success in leading brand revitalisation, commercial transformation, and digital adoption
High level of strategic acumen with hands-on operational capability
Strong leadership presence, people development skills, and stakeholder management experience
Bilingual in Mandarin and English is required due to the nature of internal and external communications
