Quality Assurance Manager

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Recruit new team members who have the required skills, appetite to learn and enthusiasm for the contribution the quality team makes to the business.
• Provide guidance, one-to-one mentoring and support to the team, ensuring that they have the tools, skills and development opportunities they need to be successful in their roles.
• Maintain a team structure and position descriptions that delivers a responsible and accountable team environment.
• Develop and implement appropriate KPI’s for the team and manage team members to these KPI’s.
• Develop a positive and productive performance culture where employees receive constructive feedback, are recognised for results achieved and supported where improvement is required.
• Identify high performers and maximise development opportunities for them.

• Champion quality in business operations; bring to life the positive impact of quality practice on productivity, profitability, culture and pride in our organisation.
• Lead the quality practice in the day-to-day business, including adherence to food safety standards and processing activities.
• Support our operations teams to identify meaningful opportunities to improve business activities that continually enhance our quality practice alongside maximising efficiency and profitability.
• Focus on innovation in the quality team, identifying new technology, process and standards that can deliver an improved quality standard with. Prioritise digitisation; eliminating manual, offline and repetitive processing.
• Escalate concerns in process, practice or standards for food safety and quality to management quickly with recommend response and action plans for the required improvement.
• Provide support to our wider business teams in sales, purchasing, operations and logistics as the subject matter expert able to assist and advise to respond to queries and concerns, improve team knowledge, validate special requests and other expectations particularly with respect to customers and supplier expectations.

• Manage all food safety and certification applications and renewals including FSSC, Halal, MSC/ASC and others.
• Ensure all required SOP’s are in place and validated regularly including product recall.
• Deliver product quality systems management, including product specification validation when required, cold-chain and best before dates systems, product quality and goods return.
• Manage the GRN and credit request process for customer rejected products and returns.
• Monitor all relevant legislation related to food manufacture and distribution in Singapore, and identify changes with implications to Bidfood operations.
• Incorporate legislative change into business SOP’s and communicate with relevant teams supporting them to adapt their operational practice as required.
• Represent Bidfood as the primary contact for external quality and food safety audit including customer audit.

• Champion the adherence to SOP’s across all operational teams which ensure the business processes and practice exceed legislative and certification standards.
• Ensure compliance of CCP / OPRP and food safety requirements of manufacturing kitchens.
• Have oversight of all quality and food-safety related documentation control, policies and SOP’s.
• Work with BFS Head of Procurement to implement a new supplier approval and validation process including documentation management and standards validation.
• Support Facilities management team to ensure robust quality practice including cleanliness and hygiene, facility and environment standards and pest control.
