Role Summary:
Our client is looking for an ambitious individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to lead the Commercial team in Singapore. The individual will have a positive and result-oriented attitude, with four primary areas of responsibility:
Leading origination out of Singapore—including direct origination, bank partnerships, and referral partnerships with financial intermediaries and fintechs.
Leading the Commercial team and serving as a people leader for the overall Singapore team.
Acting as a spokesperson to ensure our client’s offerings are tailored to the Singapore market.
Creating and maintaining a strong market position for our client.
This strategic leadership role is pivotal to our client’s growth and includes scaling product offerings, driving sales, and developing partnerships that expand the platform's influence and impact in the trade finance space.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Commercial teams, ensuring alignment with our client’s business objectives and growth plans. Originate for Singapore and own the delivery of the P&L for Hproducts (cross-border receivables and payables finance).
Direct Origination: Lead a team to originate large deals from key accounts using your own network or leveraging the team’s network.
Bank Partnerships: Acquire and manage partnerships to generate deals via referral arrangements with banks and NBFCs, and oversee execution.
Referral Partnerships: Manage relationships with financial intermediaries and fintechs to generate trade finance deals, ensuring seamless execution.
Represent our client in key client meetings, establishing a strong market presence and positioning the platform as a leader in trade finance solutions.
Uphold the highest standards of ethics and compliance across all regulatory and business conduct parameters.
Formulate and execute strategic plans to expand product lines and boost sales performance in Singapore while managing partnerships to extend reach in international markets.
Requirements
Role-Specific Technical Competencies:
15 years of management experience, primarily in receivables finance and/or supply chain finance.
Exposure to clients ranging from SMEs to large MNCs, with a strong network in the trade finance ecosystem (e.g., banks, fintechs).
Comfortable working in high-growth, startup environments, with the ability to build structure, self-educate, and creatively problem-solve.
Strategic thinking capabilities with an in-depth understanding of market dynamics and partnership development.
Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of influencing at the executive level.
High emotional intelligence, team-building skills, and agility in leading teams in virtual and dynamic settings.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Proven experience in stakeholder management and communication, including engagement with C-level executives, clients, and partners.
