Vice President – Ocean Freight – APAC

As VP, Ocean Freight – APAC, you will play a pivotal role in shaping DP World’s regional ocean freight and 4PL strategy, driving market leadership in global trade. Key Accountabilities

• Define the Ocean Freight vision with a 3–5 year roadmap for FCL, LCL, and 4PL, focusing on sustainability, digital transformation, and disruption management.
• Lead carrier partnerships, securing competitive rates, priority access, and capacity through strategic alliances with shipping lines and NVOCCs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, adapting to industry shifts (e.g., IMO 2023, EU ETS) to maintain a competitive edge.
• Optimize pricing strategies, leveraging AI-driven models to balance margins and competitiveness in spot and contract markets.
• Develop customer-centric solutions, launching tailored services and high-margin verticals like reefer logistics and project cargo.
• Strengthen shipping line collaboration, securing strategic partnerships, green shipping initiatives, and peak season capacity.
• Leverage DP World’s global port network to optimize operations, reduce dwell times, and mitigate congestion risks.
• Enhance efficiency and reliability, reducing costs, optimizing routes, and implementing crisis management strategies.
• Build and lead a high-performing APAC team, fostering expertise in digital tools, sustainability, and integrated logistics.
• Drive EBITDA growth through margin optimization, cost control, and strategic capital allocation.
• Expand and optimize the LCL network, improving cost efficiency, transit times, and customer experience.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Expertise in Trade Management and Ocean Freight operations, with a background in multinational corporations and the forwarding industry.
• Results-driven with a strong commercial mindset, combining strategic thinking with an action-oriented approach to drive business success.
• Customer-focused negotiator, skilled in achieving optimal outcomes with keen commercial awareness and a clear results orientation.
• Experienced in managing virtual teams, leading large internal and external meetings, and fostering collaboration in a corporate environment.
• Strong networking and interpersonal skills, comfortable operating in multinational settings and engaging with key stakeholders.
• Confident decision-maker, capable of making high-impact choices that influence the broader network while driving business growth.
• Passionate about coaching and cross-cultural collaboration, fostering talent development and teamwork.
• Willing to travel internationally (approx. 40%).
