What The Role Is

You are part of a team that charts the long-term direction and strategy for National Education (NE) and Total Defence (TD).

What You Will Be Working On

  • Formulate and review NE policies and initiatives
  • Develop strategic messages for NE and TD
  • Explore new ideas and partnerships to enhance national resilience efforts
  • Develop plans and policies for Whole-of-Government NE efforts in sensing, content generation, and engagement


Challenge(s)

  • Understanding how issues related to NE and TD impact the department's work
  • Balance departmental interests with those of partners
  • Developing effective strategies to achieve strategic outcomes


What We Are Looking For

  • Education in Communication Studies or Social Sciences
  • At least 2 years of work experience in policy-making or public communications is preferred
  • Strong interest and understanding of national issues
  • Strong command of clear written and spoken English
  • Good networking skills with an open and probing mind
