Director TOM Design Lead, Credit & Lending Operations

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director – Target Operating Model (TOM) Design Lead for Credit & Lending Operations. This role will be responsible for reimagining the lending and credit processes, optimizing workflows, and driving automation to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• As the TOM Design Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the future operating model, identifying simplification, automation, and reorganization opportunities, and ensuring a client-centric, data-driven transformation. You will be supported by a team of 3-4 analysts, working closely with business leaders, operations, technology teams, and transformation partners to execute this vision.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Target Operating Model (TOM) Design & Process Transformation

• Lead the design, development, and execution of the Target Operating Model (TOM) for Credit & Lending Operations.
• Oversee end-to-end process mapping, identifying inefficiencies, handoffs, and areas for reorganization.
• Define simplified and scalable workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risks.
• Identify automation opportunities, working closely with technology teams to integrate AI, workflow automation, and digitization solutions.

2. Benefits Quantification & Business Case Development

• Develop a comprehensive business case, quantifying the impact of process transformation.
• Conduct data-driven analysis to measure efficiency gains, cost savings, and risk mitigation.
• Track benefits realization through structured reporting and continuous monitoring.
• Drive leadership buy-in by presenting the value proposition and expected outcomes of TOM initiatives.

3. Data-Driven Decision Making & Performance Metrics

• Implement data-driven methodologies to support decision-making in process reengineering.
• Establish and track operational KPIs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Utilize process mining and capacity modeling to assess workflow effectiveness and optimization opportunities.
• Drive insights into transformation planning, ensuring measurable improvements in speed, accuracy, and scalability.

4. Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead a team of 3-4 Analysts/Associates, providing guidance and oversight on TOM initiatives.
• Collaborate with Operations, Risk, Transformation, and Technology teams to execute process redesign and automation efforts.
• Engage with senior stakeholders to align TOM initiatives with broader strategic goals.
• Present progress updates and transformation roadmaps to executive leadership, ensuring alignment with Fit for Growth (FFG) objectives.

5. Adoption of Best-in-Class Tools & Methodologies

• Leverage Lean Six Sigma, process mining, and AI-driven automation to streamline workflows.
• Apply capacity models to optimize workforce allocation and improve operational efficiency.
• Use impact analysis frameworks to validate transformation initiatives and ensure long-term sustainability.

Our Ideal Candidate

Qualifications & Experience:

• 12 years of experience in target operating model design, process transformation, or operational strategy, ideally in credit & lending operations or financial services.
• Strong understanding of lending and credit operations, including document management, limit management, reporting, and loan disbursement workflows.
• Proven ability to redesign processes, drive simplification, and lead automation initiatives.
• Experience in benefits quantification, cost optimization, and business case development.
• Expertise in Lean Six Sigma, process mining, capacity modeling, and workflow automation tools.
• Strong leadership experience, with prior experience managing teams of analysts or process engineers.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to engage with senior leadership teams.
• Hands-on experience with data-driven decision-making, analytics, and performance tracking tools.
• Education Bachelor in Engineering/Science/Economics and MBA from tier 1
• Training Six sigma lean, data analytics
