Position Overview:
The Audit Manager is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of audit and assurance engagements, ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit services. With a focus on financial services clients, you will lead the planning, execution, and finalization of audit engagements, while managing a team to ensure successful completion. You will be fully accountable for all aspects of the engagements, ensuring they are delivered within budget and on time.
Additionally, you will focus on developing and maintaining long-term client relationships, with a strong emphasis on business development. As part of your role, you will provide technical expertise to ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards. You will also contribute to professional development activities, such as training, staff recruitment, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify clients' business risks and key areas of concern.
Analyze the impact of the changing business environment on client operations.
Develop and implement engagement plans for assurance projects.
Conduct assurance engagements in compliance with professional standards, including AML/KYC, MAS regulatory reporting, and related compliance areas.
Resolve accounting and auditing issues, providing solutions as needed.
Review accompanying reports and ensure they meet the appropriate framework.
Identify opportunities for personal and team development to enhance work performance.
Facilitate clear and effective communication within a diverse, cross-functional team.
Lead and mentor junior team members to develop technical skills and improve performance.
Address and resolve ethical conflicts encountered during engagements.
Job Requirements:
Degree in Accountancy, preferably with a recognized professional qualification.
7 to 10 years of relevant experience, ideally from an international accounting firm.
Extensive experience working on financial services engagements, including insurance, banking, payments, and asset/wealth management.
Familiarity with regulatory audits, particularly in the Singapore context.
Experience in establishing or building a new team/function is an advantage.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels.
Sound understanding of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, audit standards, and accounting principles.
A proactive, positive attitude and the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
