ACET is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Controller to manage and optimize accounting operations, ensure compliance with both commercial and government contracts, and drive financial processes across the organization. This position is critical for maintaining DCAA-compliant financial systems and ensuring accurate cost allocation across government contracts.
The ideal candidate will have advanced proficiency in Deltek Costpoint, a strong background in government contracting, extensive experience managing complex accounting functions in a highly regulated environment, and a detail-oriented approach to financial management.
Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management and Reporting:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial statements.
- Manage the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
- Monitor cash flow, forecasts, and budgeting processes to align with organizational goals.

Government Contract Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to FAR, DFARS, and DoD-specific regulations, including Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements.
- Prepare and oversee incurred cost submissions, indirect rate calculations, and forward pricing rate proposals (FPRPs).
- Manage audits, including DCAA and other federal agency audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings.

Deltek Costpoint Administration:
- Serve as the subject matter expert on Deltek Costpoint, optimizing its use for financial reporting, project accounting, and compliance.
- Develop and manage Deltek Costpoint workflows, reporting tools, and data integrations.

Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance on best practices for financial operations.
- Implement policies and procedures to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across the department.
- Interface with senior leadership to align financial strategies with organizational goals.

Internal Controls and Risk Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Evaluate financial systems and processes, recommending improvements as necessary.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience in the government contracting or defense sector.
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing accounting operations.
- Advanced proficiency in Deltek Costpoint is required (minimum of 5 years of experience).
- Extensive knowledge of federal contracting regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and DCAA compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of indirect rate structures, incurred cost submissions, and cost pool allocations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Experience with other financial tools and ERP systems is a plus.
