The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's mission is to be the most essential and engaging source of news and information for the people of Atlanta, of Georgia, and the South. To achieve that mission, we will transform ourselves from a storied daily newspaper into a modern media company. Our Creative Marketing team creates compelling, multi-platform content for a range of initiatives including marketing, promotion and live events.
The AJC is searching for a Creative Marketing Project Manager. This role plans, organizes, secures, and manages resources to bring about the successful completion of creative project goals and objectives. You will partner with project stakeholders across internal Marketing team, cross-functional teams, and external agency partners. The Creative Marketing Project Manager will assign work to our in-house and agency partners, track project progress, and ensure projects are in-line with creative direction and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate has experience in a creative marketing role, is well-versed in project management processes, and takes ownership of projects from beginning to end.
This person will need to sit in Atlanta but will have the ability to work remotely part of the week.
Responsibilities:
• Lead creative projects of all sizes from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to creative direction
• Accountability for planning of resources for tasks, allocation, estimation & scheduling
• Identify project risks, communicate to partners across teams, provide solutions to timelines, and drive resolution via team collaboration
• Sets and manages internal stakeholder expectations, managing and escalating issues and changes
• Manages the creation and tracking of processes, procedures and documentation that improve projects
• Manage project workflows using project management software, ensuring it reflects most up to date status for campaigns & assets
• Communicate major milestones and identifies potential project risks; conducts regular status meetings to review project activities; manages prioritization procedures
• Final QA to ensure high-quality output that aligns with stakeholder expectations and brand standards
• Improve creative trafficking process, including file management
• Understanding of creative brief needs, to collaborate with marketing team on requests
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 4 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 10 years’ experience in a related field.
• Experience working with creative agency partners and/or in-house creative marketing team
• Working knowledge of the typical workflows for creative campaigns, from marketing strategy to concepting to production to execution
• Proficiency in project management software (Monday.com preferred)
• Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple projects at one time, prioritizing effectively
• Enthusiastic about working in a goal-oriented environment
• Ability to deliver multiple, concurrent projects error free
